Clariece Miller Paulk

Clariece Paulk, Minister of Worship and the Arts of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit (Chapel Hill Harvester Church) in Decatur, Georgia, graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1960. That same year she married Pastor Don Paulk, who along with his brother, Bishop Earl Paulk, founded the Harvester ministry in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Here her dream of restoring all of the arts to the church became a reality. In the 60's she dared to include choreographed dance in  worship services.

In the 70's Chapel Hill Harvester Church became one of the first truly integrated mega-congregations in America.  Clariece refused to have an all-white choir or an all-black choir and insisted that everyone sing together all kinds of music. The church became known for singing everything "FROM BACH TO ROCK."

For almost 50 years she has not only been the Minister of Worship and the Arts, but also was the executive producer for Cathedral  Records and producer of the church's international television broadcast, "The Harvester Hour." Known for its outreach to the community, the Worship and Arts Department of the church has presented hundreds of concerts, dramas, ballets and dance recitals.

'THE BRIDE," one of the best-known works that Clariece helped to write and produce, was presented in South Africa.  Of this musical drama THE WALL STREET JOURNAL reported: "Kingdom theology first entered South Africa four years ago when a drama, written by Mr. Paulk's church, was performed at a church in Durban. The spirit motivating these charismatics may be the best, if not the only, path to the elusive goal of racial justice without bloodshed in South Africa."

As a concert pianist, Clariece Paulk has performed in Symphony Hall in the Woodruff Arts Center, in the Atlanta Civic Center, in the Atlanta Stadium, and the Fox Theatre.

Clariece is known for her saying, "People don't know what they like...they like what they know." The arts program that she has developed has influenced hundreds of churches around the world.
